Today I’m sharing a selection of new home accessories I received from friends who are artists and makers. Below I’ll show the art prints, candles, maple treats, flowers, and vintage finds that have brightened my home lately.
New Home Accessories from Friends
I was inspired by a recent post on one of my favorite blogs and decided to highlight a few creative small businesses and makers I’ve supported recently. With shops closed at times this year, I’ve made an effort to buy from local vendors and online artists—both to support them and to bring unique pieces into my home. Here are a few favorites I’ve been enjoying.
Finding Home Farms
Finding Home Farms has quickly become my go-to for maple syrup and a few other specialty items. Their maple syrup is outstanding, and they also offer maple sugar, maple mustard, maple candy, and interesting barrel-aged varieties.
They also make candles, and their Cedar Lakes Estate collection is especially appealing. It includes three scents—Woods, Cabin, and Lake—that evoke summer camp and peaceful lake retreats. I’m particularly fond of Woods and Cabin.
Their Reserve Collection is another favorite—Black Currant and Thyme is a standout. They’ve also launched a “Shine” collection with bright, fresh scents like Grapefruit that would make a lovely gift.
After ordering syrup, I sampled a few candles that were generously sent my way. They add a warm, cozy atmosphere to the house and make great gifts for friends and family.
Laurel-Dawn Corner Studio
Laurel-Dawn Latshaw’s artwork caught my eye on Instagram. Her use of bold underpaintings—especially rich reds and pinks—gives each piece a striking, layered quality that feels both modern and timeless.
After following her work, she kindly sent me two prints, which I framed and hung in my dining room. They fit the space beautifully and add a fresh, artistic touch.
She often sells originals on Instagram and I was lucky to purchase a piece from a recent collection before it sold out. The painting is on its way and I’ll share it once it arrives.

Pisarcik Flower Farm (Local to Pittsburgh)
Pisarcik Flower Farm is a local favorite here in Pittsburgh. They offer seasonal bouquets, greens, eggs, honey, perennials, and indoor plants. While their in-person market presence is local, they do ship certain items like dahlias and ranunculus corms.
They launched an online farmer’s market with weekly updates, and local pickup or delivery options make it easy to bring fresh flowers and seasonal goods home. I enjoy visiting their booth at the neighborhood farmers market and have even visited the farm and greenhouse in warmer months.
They also host workshops and offer floral services for events. If you love fresh, seasonal flowers, they’re worth discovering.
Antiquing via Instagram Stories
If you miss browsing antique shops, try following sellers who hold virtual sales on Instagram Stories. Several dealers have been posting curated items, and I’ve had good luck supporting small vintage sellers this way.

Megan of Goods Resurrected frequently runs Instagram story sales. I asked her to look for paint-by-number pieces for my collection and she found a lovely one—an easy and fun way to pick up vintage art while supporting a small business.
@thewhitepeppervintage
Christina of The White Pepper Vintage also posts frequent sales. I picked up a framed collage of vintage postage stamps and a panoramic “yard long” portrait to add to a group of similar pieces in my family room. These sellers make it easy to find one-of-a-kind vintage art from home.
These virtual sales have been a creative way to shop while supporting small businesses and independent sellers. If you enjoy hunting for vintage treasures, following a few trusted sellers on social media is a great place to start.
